The Better Broadband Scheme has been developed by the UK government to give immediate assistance to those people suffering with the slowest speeds by providing a subsidised installation for a better connection.
Superfast speeds of more than 24Mbps will be available for the first time to the community from a wide range of broadband service providers.
All residents in Corsley, Wiltshire, will soon have access to high speed internet after it was recently announced that the final parts of the village have been added to high speed broadband plans.
First residents are expected to get the higher speeds by the end of the year following a co-funded deal with those living at The Heath, which sits on the boundary between Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. This is part of BT’s Community Fibre Partnerships programme, which has already seen BT sign agreements with nearly 200 local communities and organisations to bring fibre broadband to some of the UK’s most challenging areas.
A partnership between Kings Copse residents and Openreach, BT’s local network business, is to make high-speed fibre broadband available to 125 households in the community.
If you represent a community or are interested in bringing ultrafast fibre all the way to your home or business please enter your post code or landline to start the journey.
